This is one of my treasured memories of the quaint little Ristorante dau Cila, sipping Sciacchetrà, and savoring homemade pesto pasta Genovese, looking over the Porto di Riomaggiore. A gem in Cinque Terra. I love that the fishing boat sitting quietly on the cobbled boat ramp beneath, and the faded shades of blue and white, told stories of countless journeys along the Ligurian Coast.

The layered history in this dynamic landscape at Little Bay, is a tribute to the rugged Australian coastline, and one of my favourite spots to marvel at the rhythms of nature. The solid granite rock formations decorated with the wind-bent grace of pandanus is an artist’s delight!
A moment of dappled light and shade on a corner of an Italian tablescape. This piece is alive with warmth and colour leaving you in anticipation of relaxed conversation and a good drop. Perfect for spaces that celebrate gathering and savoring life’s simple pleasures.

The rich, deep purple hues of the banana flower contrast with the vibrant greens of the surrounding foliage, and earthy tones of suggested bananas. Dynamic brushstrokes create a sense of spontaneity and energy, transforming this simple natural subject into a bold expression of the lush tropical environment of my surrounds.
This painting captures the calm before the storm at Hyams Beach, one of my favourite places. The contrast between the serene plane of the ocean and the dramatic, brewing sky, embodies that moment of peaceful stillness before nature's power takes over. The barracks, nestled quietly in the distant landscape, add a subtle sense of history and permanence as the tempest rolls across. I made it back to shelter just in time!
This evocative painting captures the simple yet timeless pleasure of childhood exploration on the tidal flats of Wellington Point. Children, absorbed in their search for shells, are depicted with a sense of innocence and wonder, embodying the carefree spirit of youth and the joy of discovery. It’s a nostalgic reminder of the fleeting yet precious moments of youth, and the simple joy found in the quiet corners of Moreton Bay.
The whale watching boat quickly returns to port in Huskisson as a storm rolls in over Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. The turquoise waters contrast with the intense energy above, creating a striking juxtaposition of peace and impending turmoil.The eerie calm before the storm was short lived before the torrential downpour.
This work not only presents a unique feature of Wellington Point, with its distinct tidal flats, but also carries an intimate, emotional resonance. The serene phthalo blue of the bay on a still day carries a relaxing vibe, and the mocha hues of the flats at low tide ground the piece with an earthy warmth, suggesting the interplay between nature’s calm and the memories it holds.
It was such a pleasure to capture this moment of serene elegance in the streets of Asakusa, Tokyo. Strolling over the crossing with a black sesame ice cream in hand, the bustling metropolis met imperial elegance a few steps in front of me. Their vibrant kimonos contrast beautifully against the modern urban backdrop, merging past and present in a harmonious blend of culture and motion.
Behold the vibrant energy of a juicy pineapple, boldly rendered with expressive brushstrokes that bring it to life. The pineapple’s vivid colour and intricate texture stood out, making it the undeniable star of our fruit platter. I couldn’t help but grab a photo of it on the carved wooden board in the kitchen as the light was filtering through. The result was an explosion of colour, where the rawness of the natural world meets the vibrancy of contemporary artistic expression.
This iconic vantage point captures the essence of Riomaggiore, a stunning coastal village in the Cinque Terre. From the top of the headland, I had a sweeping, bird’s-eye view of the multi-coloured buildings that line the hillside, and a handful of fishing boats bobbing in the Ligurian waters. The rugged cliffs on the opposite side add an element of natural beauty that complements the man-made vibrancy of the village. It’s a beautiful depiction of the harmony between nature, architecture, and the everyday life of a coastal town. Such a joy to paint!
A cheeky toucan poses on the Argentinian side of the forest surrounding Iguazu Falls. The bird's striking, colourful beak—a brilliant mix of yellow, orange, and red—stands out against the suggestion of dense jungle epitomizing the untamed beauty and vivid life surrounding one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders.
Elegant kimonos against the colourful cityscape are an artist’s joy to behold during festive seasons in Japan. The rich pattern of her kimono evokes a sense of cultural heritage, while the lively, colorful backdrop of Shibuya highlights the intersection of tradition and contemporary life in one of Tokyo's most iconic districts.
This painting captures natures splash of flamboyance in our tropical garden. A blend of rich greens and earthy tones, add depth and contrast while allowing the vivid flowers to form the focal point. The piece radiates a sense of vitality, transforming the contrast between delicate flower petals and rigid plant structure into an expressive, almost surreal celebration of nature’s brilliance.

This scene captures the moment of awe as you come over the crest Forbes Street in Hawthorne, and the sprawling beauty of Brisbane City unfolds before your eyes. It takes my breath away every time!The city skyline rises majestically in the distance, with its iconic buildings bathed in a warm glow. At certain times of the year, the suburban landscape is dotted with the vibrant purple blooms of Jacaranda trees, adding a burst of colour, complimenting the charm of Brisbane’s urban and suburban blend.
This painting captures my memory of the serene charm of Riomaggiore’s harbor in early spring, with fishing boats resting on the boat ramp. What I loved about painting this town, were the consistent combinations of striped canopies amongst bursts of red and aquamarine, and the interplay of warm and cool colours against the rustic textures of stone walls and cobbled streets.
